Japanese Culture

In Japan, the number eight is also considered lucky, but the reason is a bit different from that in Chinese ethos. The Japanese favor the number because of the shape of the character (八) The symbol broadens gradually, giving an idea of growth linked with prosperity.

Numerology

In numerology, 8 is the number of building. Building often in the sense of personal achievement and success thanks to confidence, inner strength, good judgement, dependability, compassion, integrity, ambition, patience, and wisdom. It puts an emphasis on the areas of career, business, finances and authority. Yet, its shape reflects its most important attribute –balance. Some believe that it is a Karmic equalizer, making it a force that both creates and destroys to bring equilibrium. It can also be associated with a desire for peace and a love of humanity.

Religion

In Judaism, eight is symbolic of an entity that is one step above the natural order, higher than nature and its limitations. In Hinduism, it is the number of wealth and abundance.
