Jewelry Hack: How to Untangle Necklaces
Do you come home from a long day (or night out) and toss your jewelry on the closest piece of furniture? Do you do this repeatedly during the week and then find that all your chains are a tangled mess?
I’ve been there. It’s not fun.
Don’t cry out of frustration. Just follow these simple steps and you’ll have them apart in no time.
Start by unclasping the ends of each necklace and drop a little oil onto each knot. Next, use a straight pin to gradually pull each end free. Sit somewhere with plenty of light and be gentle so you don’t end up snapping one of your favorite chains. If you are faced with a particularly unruly mix, you might want to use two pairs of tweezers to grasp the chains and pull. It’ll make the process much easier.
In my humble opinion, it’s easier to just prevent the tangled necklaces in the first place.
Buy a jewelry organizer that has hooks for your necklaces or DIY one to match your decor. Jewelry is an investment and should be treated with care. Plus, you’re more likely to accessorize if things are easy to find!
